Grand Opened

The Grand Opening was great. We had so many children come. It was a real eye-opener. We saw many new faces. Sunday evening we had an activities night. I did see one of our local skate boarders playing ball. I know Bro Kev has been working on and with this young man. It was good to see him there.

We gave away many hotdogs and drinks. Bonnie B. was our grand prize winner. She received a couple of Ladies Ministries tee shirts as well as two passes to the upcoming Ladies Conference at Cleary.

The inflatable was a huge hit. There were kids who got in as soon as they arrived and stayed inside playing for hours!

I know the volleyball court and basketball net were certainly worked overtime. At one point I thought I saw Bro Chris hanging from the rim after an under both legs, twisting, behind the back, two-handed slam. Maybe I was just imagining that.

Many, many thanks to all who helped us put on the event. We wanted to glorify God in our endeavor. I pray He was blessed by the work of so many hands and that he will bless Cleary and His family here.

Thanks to Bubba Shorter and the folks at Cleary Baptist Church for giving RobbinsSports.com the opportunity to work with your organization. We hope you like your volleyball nets, basketball goals, and scoreboards, and we wish you success with your new gym.
Thanks,
Richard Robbins

I was searching for a church in the Florence area and ran across a comment about your grand opening, about seeing a local skate boarder at the grand opening and he was playing ball(?) I am confused by this comment. It seems to imply that skate boarding is bad and playing ball is better. I am sincerly looking for a place to share God's love with others, but I simply do not understand a comment such as this. Perhaps someone could enlighten me.

I meant to imply that we, through activities in the ARC, were reaching a young man who does not appear to know Jesus Christ as his Savior. Bro. Kevin Wade has plans to implement a skate board ministry some time in the future. If you're interested in seeing Kevin's philosophy about how to reach young people, like skate boarders, please read his Passion in Ministry.

In a nutshell, I meant only to thank God for using the ARC to reach out to folks who might otherwise not come to church.

PS - That young man was in church yesterday. God is good all the time!

Dear Cleary Comment,

Thank you for responding to my e-mail I have been hyper defensive lately. I am a widow with a 10 yr. old son. I DONOT want sympathy! I have been home churching because I am afraid of being regected. I have always believed in Jesus and have taught my son to believe. I strayed away from God when I was 15. I never stopped believing, I just didn't think he, GOD, could still love me. I have developed a strong personal relationship with God more so since my husband died. I have experienced God's grace and am constantly overwhelmed how he takes care of me and my son. I feel I have a wonderful testimony. God has been dealing with me to get out of the house and meet people in church. Pray for me please that I will get out of the house and share God's love with others.
